A320 Initial Type Rating - APT1 Preparation

This lesson is to introduce the trainee with normal operation, additional to the handling of automation of the A320 under normal conditions.
In this session trainee will familiarize himself with the normal operation and the FMGS. Even though trainees have already visited the IPT device during Theory Training, at the beginning of this first lesson, the Instructor will thorough brief them regarding the controls and functions of the IPT device.

1.Preliminary cockpit preparation
The following procedure, ensures that all the required checks are performed before applying electrical power to avoid inadvertent operation of systems and danger to the aircraft and personnel.

During the Preliminary Cockpit Preparation, the flight crew must also review all OEBs applicable to the aircraft. The flight crew must pay a particular attention to the red OEBs, and more particularly to the red OEBs that must be applied before the ECAM procedure.
